Dr. Ashley Hodge, a South Phoenix native and a third-generation graduate of the Roosevelt Elementary School District, and is deeply rooted in her community. Her educational journey began in South Phoenix, culminating in her graduation from Cesar Chavez High School. Driven by a strong connection to the Sun Devil community, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work from Arizona State University. Her academic journey continued with the attainment of a doctorate in Behavioral Health. More recently, she achieved her second doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California, completing this accomplishment in May.

During her formative years, Dr. Hodge developed a strong desire to make a positive impact in the community that nurtured her growth. Her contributions span locally and nationally, with active involvement in Red Cross Disaster Relief initiatives between 2019 and 2022. In 2022, she took on a role within the National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW), where she passionately advocates for health, education, economic empowerment, and civic engagement for Black Women and Girls. Within NCBW, she serves as the co-chair of the Education Committee. Currently, Dr. Hodge serves as a Governing Board Member in Roosevelt Elementary School District No. 66, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of high school. Her recent appointment as a Board Trustee for the Arizona School Board Association Insurance Trust (ASBAIT) underscores her dedication to the well-being of educators and staff in Arizona.

Dr. Ashley Hodge is a devoted servant leader who fervently promotes a holistic approach to education, placing significant emphasis on social-emotional learning and the physical and mental well-being of students, seamlessly integrated within the modern academic framework. She wants to promote environmental justice by ensuring our transition to a clean energy economy is done in a just and equitable way. Dr. Ashley Hodge wants to secure clean air and drinkable water for all future generations to come.
